
Globalization has had a tremendous impact on fútbol. Due to this phenomenon, many footballers have more than one nationality and, therefore, have the right to play for the country they choose.
Michael Orozco was born in California, but his parents are from México. He waited to defend the colors of the latin America country, but he never got the call from Hugo Sánchez, former coach. Now Orozco plays for the U.S. and he's going to Beijin... México is not.
I interviewed Orozco and he's a really nice guy. He confessed that his first option was to play for México, but he's happy for the way he's been treated by the American squad and the coaching staff. Orozco's dream will come true next summer. But his goal is two years away: South Africa World Cup.
